Happy Mother’s Day!

I often portray my mom as a timid lady, because she is so loving and sweet.  But she’s tough too, she tried very hard to give us every opportunity in a small place, without much.  My mother is the one who has believed in my abilities the longest, and the fiercest, and for that I owe her everything.

In this particular exchange, she also showed me that people’s talent may not always be what it appears to be to others, and that we all may have a greatness in us that not everyone can see.

Remember to call your mother today.  She loves you.

every time kate does a comic pertaining to family it always manages to be so genuinely heartwarming, and this is no exception

my mom never claimed to understand my fascination with drawing but always managed to support me and encourage me never to give up with it. Plus there was always a genuine creative knack that’s in my mom’s side of the family (several of my relatives have at least pursued art at one point or put their creative sense in another medium), so i guess she always knew it was coming one way or another, haha 

either way i’ll never forget her support and her ongoing cheering me on with my endeavors
