Finished my Phoenix alterations! To the left is the before (from this post), the right is the after!
When I originally was planning on doing this cosplay, I was anticipating not having any time what so ever to sew, due to my hectic work schedule and the lack of reliable transportation at the time. I ordered the original suit from a China seller. It’s a solid, one piece zentai suit which, surprise surprise, didn’t look quite like the photo. The gloves and the boots weren’t as long as I would’ve liked. Now, being the anal retentive sort of cosplayer I am, I wanted to make walkable bootcovers and removable gloves for more comfort as well as a better fit. I decided on cutting off the sewn-on sock-boots and gloves and made my own from leftover gold I had from my Panty cosplay.
The result is my first, and probably best, bootcover I made using a pair of old heels and the draping method from Crash Culture’s tutorial. And a pair of gloves made from this tutorial (they look fine but still fit rather odd. I hate making gloves lmao) I’m working on my Phoenix brooch to pin onto her sash then it’s all done! Just to my liking! And while I did end up sewing a lot of things myself, it’s worth it for the accuracy. I love it now and it’s definitely more comfortable!
OKAY BEE SERIOUSLY HOW DO YOU ACE EVERY COSPLAY YOU PLAN
IT’S KIND OF SCARY BUT INCREDIBLE
